I’ll be the first to admit that I am a huge worrier and a helicopter mom! I am constantly watching my children wherever we may be… Yes, I am that mom creepin behind stuff and make sure they are okay and not doing anything that they shouldn’t towards other children.
I know full well that my kids are not perfect but I hope the training Jerod and I do at home gets put into action whenever we are out in public.
I am that mom that follows my kid around the playground hoping they don’t get hurt.
I do not buy all organic products… I tried in the beginning but that didn’t last long. I also brought the shopping cart cover everywhere and then stopped bringing it after about 12 months..
I do read to my children every single night. I am consistent with that. 🙂
I cut up their food in tiny pieces for fear of choking. Oakland’s not so little anymore.
I need to work on letting them get dirty more often. I don’t like messes because I don’t like cleaning it up. Haha
I forget to clean Ainsley’s highchair tray sometimes and regret it after the food is stuck! I of course will wipe it down before she eats her next meal though. 🙂 I need a good tray cleaner… have any suggestions?
I do love my children deeply and put them before God a lot of the time. This is something I am working on daily. I do, however love them so much that I have to discipline ( Oakland) often. I believe disciplining your children is so vital to their upbringing..
– For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. Hebrews 12:11
I do know that I am a mom who loves my children and would do anything for them. I want to model Christ’s love to them with my marriage especially! I believe that as a wife our husband needs to come before our children. If that relationship fails then their home falls apart.

This was great to get to know you more. I am the "messy mom" which pretty much means I am a wreck! I am usually laid back in my approach to parenting, but my husband is more of the helicopter type so we definitely balance each other out.

I'm totally with you on the shopping cart cover! Used it for awhile with my first kid, then never with my second or third. Oh well, they're fine, right? 🙂

I am not a mom yet (starting the foster care process next year) but I think I would be a little bit of a helicopter mom. I am not sure though. As a nanny, daycare owner I let the kids get messy and didn't hover so I am not sure. Thankyou for sharing your heart.

My husband is more the helicopter parent and I am more laid back! I do worry though when anyone else is in charge of my daughter and want to swoop in and make sure that everything is safe and perfect!

I'm totally the opposite of helicopter parent. LOL! It think raising kids in the country, if you tried to helicopter, you would drive yourself absolutely insane. Between the mud and the animals and the tools and whoever else their able to think up in those little brains… However, I'm totally the strict parent when it is necessary. But otherwise, I try to just kinda sit back and be within calling distance.

I'm not a mom yet, but I have spent tons of time around kids and I have a feeling I'm going to be a total helicopter mom. Ive been a nanny for the past 2 years and I was always right behind the little guy making sure he was alright. I like having control, even though I know that's usually not an option when you have kids haha.

You sound like you're right on track mama!! I never thought I was a helicopter mom (I let my son bump his head, lick the floor, as long as it doesn't kill him hehehe) but then I started going to play group and those mamas were letting their kids run around the tiled floor and it took ALL of me not to chase after them preventing the inevitable fall! LOL
I was following elliott around everywhere and that's when I knew it. I was a semi -copter! :))))

Aw love this! I am kind of a helicopter mom too, I don't but organic foods (only some), and I hate it when she makes a mess. Glad to know I'm not the only one 🙂
