Today as I was reading the Bible to my class and a phrase that John the Baptist said really spoke to me. He was preaching to the Israelite’s about getting their lives right with God and that the Kingdom is on its way!
He says to ” Do your jobs well and without grumbling!” There are so many times I just do my job to do my job and get done with it. That is not how we are to approach our calling. God has called me to be a teacher and I must do that job well. I must listen. I must love. I must prepare. I must obey. I must practice. I must give. I am also called to not grumble or complain. That is something I struggle with daily. When I find myself about to grumble or complain I need to stop and think for a minute and give thanks to God for getting to fulfill my calling!
We all have been blessed with different jobs. Maybe yours is staying home with your children, working retail, working in a cubicle, being a missionary, or a teacher like me.

thanks for the great encouragement! Vocation is my husband's favorite thing to preach about, and hearing it come from another mama is somehow different and hits home more 🙂

That is a great quote and a great reminder. I stay at home with my kids, and support from other mothers really makes all the difference too.

You definitely have to find joy in what you do, and it has to come from a very real, internal place in order to keep going day in and day out, even when things get hard! Great advice! <3
