Thank you Comforts Brand™ for sponsoring this post. All opinions are 100% mine.
Let me just start off by saying this. You ARE AMAZING. Moms are definitely rock stars and deserve so much praise. You carried your baby… inside of you. You birthed them!
Now your baby is out of the womb! You have a lof of sleepless nights ahead of you. BUT that doesn’t always have to be the case. There are things you can do to help your child sleep longer… but all children are different and what might work for one might not work for the other. I will tell you this. Your child will wake up a lot the first 2 months.
Every child is different they say right? This is so very true.
One child might sleep through the night at 2 weeks while the other might not until 12 months.
One child might breastfeed like a champ while the other was not able to latch one.
Why is getting your child to sleep through the night so important to moms? Well, for one I love my sleep. I could literally sleep until 12 every day. I’ve always loved taking naps and sleeping in. Even after teaching for 7 years I never just woke up on my own. I had to have an alarm clock wake me up every single morning.
I think it’s also important that my baby sleeps through the night so that they are getting an adequate amount of sleep to function. When my baby’s did not have a full nights rest or would skip naps during the day their behaviors would be totally different.
Let’s be honest when I don’t have a ton of sleep I don’t have a ton of patience.
Here are my tips: (Remember this is my third baby and every baby is different.)
Be consistent:
Do the same thing every night. If you choose to read a book, put on night time lotion, and then sing your baby a song try and incorporate that every night in a routine.
Make sure your baby’s room has little to no light at night
If there is light your baby might think it’s time to get up and play! I don’t have a night light in L’s room. It’s pitch black.
Set a bedtime routine at a certain time and do this routine every night
We do the same thing every night. After her last feeding, which is usually between 7-9 we start her routine. I put her in a dry diaper and make sure her bottom is clean by using a soft wipe! I love the new Comfort wipes! They come in fragrance-free, Sensitive, and scented! They are Paraben Free, hypoallergenic, and gentle on the skin with moisturizing aloe and vitamin E!
After I make sure she is dry I put on her nighttime lotion( we only use this lotion at bedtime) and then we read a book and sing to her.
Make sure your baby is dry
This is important! If your baby has a wet or dirty diaper they probably won’t sleep that well. We love using the Kroger Comforts Brand Diapers! They are improved and offer
There is day & night leakage protection!
The stretch around the leg cuff and waistband is amazing!
I love that they offer a Wetness indicator on all sizes.
These diapers are incredibly soft!!!!!
The diapers come with 2 new, fun prints!
Put on background noise
Our house is full of noise so having background noise is important to her sleeping longer!
Have little to NO interaction during the night feeding
If and when she wakes up in the middle of the night I don’t really interact with her at all. The room is pitch black. I bring in my cell phone for light. I feed her in the dark and then change her diaper in the dark.
Have any of these tips worked for you? Comforts Diapers and Wipes are available exclusively at Kroger family of stores! I would really encourage you to try these improved diapers and wipes! I love them!

Yes! I agree with all the tips! Especially the background noise one. The diaper is SUPER IMPORTANT. the worst thing is waking up to a soaking wet baby. 🙁

Love your tips! It was always hard for me to remember not to interact too much with my babies in the middle of the night, but that is such a great strategy!

These are really great tips. My son is 3 and he still doesn’t sleep through the night in his room. I can expect him around 2-2:30 every morning. Dry diaper and going potty before bed is a huge help!

I love all these tips!! It’s so true, no baby is alike. My oldest slept through the night at 4 months, my middle one was almost 14 months and my third was about 8 months. I can 100% agree with all these!

Great tips! My first slept 12 hours a night by 3 months old. My second didn’t sleep through the night until she was 17 months old! 😴😴😴
