I love Easter! It is one of my favorite holidays aside from Christmas! I love everything about it from the hunts to the traditions! Let’s not lose sight of the true meaning and that is that Jesus came, lived, died, and conquered death! Satan had no hold on him! He showed his power and love for us when he died on that cross! He could have easily came down that cross, but chose to stay up there for YOU and me!
I believe we should teach our children about Christ’s love all year long not just on the day he resurrected from the dead. YES, that may be a tad bit hard for a 5 year old to understand, especially a 1 year old. It’s important to speak about holy week in children’s terms. Oakland knows Jesus was alive, crucified, and then came back to life for us. He knows how much he loves him and the whole rising from the dead can be a little scary for a child to comprehend but it needs to be known.
I do not hold anything back from Oakland if it came out of the Bible. He always asks did that really happen? I tell him “Yes, I truly believe it did because it was in the Bible and the Bible and God’s holy word.” We must have faith in what the Bible says. We may not always see God but we need to know he is there.
I am constantly learning and growing and I think it’s important to always ask questions in regards to the Bible. Easter is such an amazing day and I can’t wait to share resurrection day with my family!
Here’s what the kids will be getting in their baskets!
