I am a lifelong creative and an elementary art teacher My husband Mark is a skilled craftsman that puts up with my crazy ideas and requests. Darling Savage Designs started rather organically after we began making wooden signs as wedding and birthday gifts for our friends and family. We began small by selling locally, and over this past summer we officially opened our online Etsy shop: darlingsavagedesigns.etsy.com.

I am a scientist turned stay at home mom of two boys…my “two little beans.” I love creating fun & functional items for baby and kids. My sons inspire me everyday. About the owner:
A native New Yorker, Kate worked for years in both advertising and the wine business. But it wasin 2005, after moving to Northern California with her husband, which led her to what she describes as the best career decision yet – raising her three boys.
During her early years as a mom Kate became aware of all the harmful chemicals that children are exposed to daily, and that wow, kids are messy! Her frustration with a sink continuously filled with dirty glasses from her three active boys and a treasure trove of plastic parts and cups appearing everywhere, inspired her to design a set of colored glasses, one color for each child that allowed the boys to manage, clean and be aware of their glass.

Their personalized glass also steered the boys away from using plastic cups. Since creating the first Kupp’ in 2013, Kate was thrilled to see her boys taking pride in using, and cleaning, their glasses. The result is not only a cleaner kitchen, but much less plastic. Apparently Kate was not alone, since making her first set; other mom’s were asking where they too could get some savvy colored glasses for their home. So, after some encouraging words from friends and family, The Kupp’ was born, and the rest, they say, is history.






My kids LOVE these cups! I usually only give Ainsley a sippy cup with a lid but after she sees Oakland drinking from these she begs for one!

All our glasses are recyclable and certified lead and cadmium free. The silicon sleeves are all BPA/BPS free, medical and food grade silicon, and are produced by a ISO certified manufacture.

Kid Licks

The worlds first organic, edible nail polish!!!

About the owner:
It had been a dream of mine to develop an edible nail polish ever since my very independent oldest child wanted to start painting her nails by herself. Before kids I had never really paid attention to what was in nail polish. After looking into some options for my daughter, including nail polish marketed for kids, I still didn’t feel like I had any polishes to choose from that I felt were safe for my child because everything always ended up in her mouth.

So after months of experimenting in the kitchen and my husband and I finally came up with a recipe for Kid Licks that we were satisfied with.

Today we have four kids (we just welcomed our fourth last week) three of whom use our edible, organic nail polish and it is so nice to hand them a bottle and not have to watch them every second. 
When I’m not working on Kid Licks I coach running and I’m looking forward to getting back into the swing of things and my first race post pregnancy.

After I got engaged, I went a little DIY crazy and decided I wanted to do most of the wedding decor and accessories myself.  I’ve always been very crafty and it was very important to me that our wedding fit our personalities and wasn’t “cookie cutter.”  I made my sash and headpiece from the lace of my mother’s wedding dress and vintage pearl beads from my grandmother and created a hanger with my future last name to hang my wedding dress on.  Friends and family insisted that other brides would love to have a “handcrafted” wedding, but might not have the time or inclination to do it, so they encouraged me to sell my creations, which is how my Etsy shop began!  I love that I get to add a special touch to another bride’s special day and create a keepsake they will have forever.  After I had my daughter, I started making children’s hangers as well because I wanted something adorable to hang her special occasion dresses on.  I am so thankful that I am able to work from home and spend as much time as possible with my daughter.

  11. I'm loving everything you've featured!! My daughter would go crazy for that nail polish. She's always asking for color on her nails and she's so independent!!! It would be a great treat for her!
