Those words came out of my son’s mouth this morning on the way to school. They left me puzzled asking him ” What makes you think you’re getting a shot today?” He said with his hands over his face ” I just don’t want to ever get a shot again, they hurt!” Well sweet boy I have news for you.
You will get another shot one day….. not today. It may hurt,it may sting, but the pain will only subside for a short time. YOU will fight through that pain and not give up!
He perked up and said “Okay mom I can handle that!” For some reason he started to worry and think about this horrible thing that might happen to him today.
We all get like this from time to time. We start to think about situations we don’t want to have to put ourselves in, we start to worry about things that don’t matter, we start to ponder “what if..”
We need to ponder “don’t worry, it’s out of my control.” Curve balls will be thrown at us, we will endure pain, we will be scared, we will want to give up but WE SIMPLY CAN NOT!
Fight the fight, cross the finish line, do your best, and not give up! Someone is always there to cheer you on. You are worth the fight. You are worth the battle.
Moms, you are fighting the fight every day. You have such an important role in your child’s life! They need you to be strong. It’s okay to cry. It’s okay to be vulnerable. It’s what you do in the end that will have an impact on them….
Will you be a fighter and run the race to the end? I challenge you to do that today. Pick yourself up and keep going. Someone needs you to do that.

Such great advice. 🙂 I tend since becoming a mother to also think of situations that could arise in the future, to borrow trouble, as they say. I know that we can find strength to fight hard battles and do the things we don't think we can.

Too often these days parents try to protect their children from pain, hurt feelings, etc. It stinks, but sometimes we need to let our kids struggle. They will come out stronger!

YES! I couldn't agree with this more, everything I do is for my children… from working out to being kind. I want to be the best role model for them.. and that means fighting the fight no matter how hard it is. 🙂 Great message, friend! XO

Brittany, I loved it! I love when people can catch the glimpses of wisdom from small children and turn them into significance!

Well said Brittany! So many things are out of control, and that's a hard lesson for a little one to learn. I hate shots too and I'm a grown-up!
