I love when I stumble upon a fabulous shop on Instagram! I have a great relationship with children’s clothing! Ha! I will totally buy my kids clothing before I buy myself something!
I love brand names but I also love thrift stores! I have received so many amazing items through Instagram I wanted to share 3 shops that you need to know about and follow!

Hi, I’m Katie and I’m the one-woman show behind August Lou Designs. I began making baby accessories and clothes in 2013 after having my first child and wanting a creative outlet as a stay at home mom. While experimenting with various designs and fabrications, and using my oldest son as a tester, I started fashioning items for him out of repurposed clothing and vintage fabrics creating aesthetically unique items that couldn’t be found anywhere else. I had found a wonderful hobby that friends and family were more than happy to support.
That hobby grew to become August Lou Designs, which is the lovechild of my backgrounds in Apparel Studies and Counseling from the University of Arkansas. I could use my creativity, and give back to children with special needs and disabilities at the same time… How could I not be in love using my two passions in life, after my babies and family of course. When I’m not behind the sewing machine or spending precious time with my littles, I am probably drinking too much coffee and coke zero, eating plenty of Mexican food, and enjoying a great glass of wine.
So for every piece bought, a portion of that sale goes to a charity or community that helps children with special needs and disabilities. Buying for the little one in your life can bring a smile to another precious one.

About Jenny and her shop: I’ve always loved having personalized items – whether it was putting my name in stickers on my notebook or having my last name embroidered on a team jacket for sports. It makes ordinary items special, and creates a sense of belonging. When expecting my first child, once my husband and I decided on a name, I couldn’t wait to get his name and/or initials on everything. (Yes, my friends DO make fun of me.) Once he was born, I decided to invest in an embroidery machine and teach myself the process. (Yes. Good investment.) It’s been fun, challenging, and such a blessing to be able to be home with Declan and build up my business as well. As a previous run specialty store manager, customer experience is important to me and believing in the products I sell. My goal with Little Letters was to make useful items unique. Those endless burp cloths and bibs babies go through can be an accessory as well as a necessity. I also wanted to share in milestones – name caps for hospital photos, themed onesies and birthday tees! Being a small business, I am also able to work one-on-one with customers through Etsy and Facebook. Have a color theme for a gift in mind? Need a birthday tee to fit your party theme? It’s so much more fun to shop for kids than it is for yourself, huh? I’m all the time shopping for Mason and then get frustrated because I don’t have a thing in my closet to wear. Ha!
