Prayer is an essential part of my life. Without it I wouldn’t be able to communicate fully to my Savior. The Lord wants to hear from us and so many times I let my own priorities get in the way of speaking to Him.
I want so much more for my children. Yes I want them to be healthy and smart. Above those things though I want them to know the Lord and have a relationship with Him. I want them to be compassionate to everyone they come in contact with. I want them to be bold in their faith. I want them to put others first. I want their dependence to be on the Lord.I also want them to trust in the Lord.
So the verses below aren’t just for our baby on the way but for our older children also.
But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen (2 Peter 3:18).
Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place (Ephesians 6:14). May they stand for what is right!
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6
Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:32
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. James 1:5

I absolutely love this. It is SO SO important to pray over them so their relationship with the Lord starts when they’re young.

I love this so much!! Thanks for sharing this. The biggest prayer that I have been consistent with my boys is, the moment they were all born, I prayed for their future spouse. I want my boys to find ladies who love the Lord and not get lost along the way!
